hybrid.publishing.systems

In collaboration with: Paul Eßer and Joanna Zoe Greiner. Created in the context of the course " Hybrid Publishing" at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz. Supervised by Interim-Prof. Alexander Roidl in cooperation with Jeanne Charlotte Vogt and Node Verein zur Förderung Digitaler Kultur e.V.

This hybrid publication is a collection of works created in the course Hybrid Publishing. In addition to the various projects, it contains essays, research results and a glossary on the topic of hybrid publishing. In this context, hybrid stands for multimedial, the separation of content and medium that enables cross-media publishing.

The publication is designed as a website. The content can be printed in part or in its entirety. To make this possible, the work is stored in a MediaWiki. The entries are displayed in the frontend and can be added to the print list by clicking the plus symbol. This means that you can print parts or the whole publication. The generative design of the print product allows changes to be made at any time. Like the website, the print version can grow.

In the web version, there is a column on the right-hand side with additional content, such as linked glossary entries. In this way, all the information needed to understand the project or essay is available in one view. These links are automatically displayed with page references in the print version.
